Let's Talk Turkey Please scroll down for photos
Five turkey's were in down town Engadine March 26, in front of the hardware store, we had to
stop the car for them to cross the road. I didn't have my camera, so by the time we got back, they were no where
to be seen.
On March 28,
my husband walked around the corner of our garage and said "The Turkey's are in our drive way!" I could
hardly believe him! Of coarse our camera was in the car, right where the turkey's were. Unbelievably,
they didn't run off and I was able to get several photos.
We offered them bread, which they liked, then walked with them down our trail to the back of
the woods. They were in no hurry and seemed to like our company!
Sadly, when they visited us, there were only four turkeys, the Tom and three lady friends,
one female was missing.
I hope we
get to see them again, it was exciting!

They came back to visit again! April 3, 2007 There were only
two, the Tom and one hen. They really seemed to enjoyed our company, again! The hen took a piece of bread right out of my
hand, the Tom came close, but wouldn't reach out and take the treat.I'm very surprised on how they react to people! Photos by Julie Freeman©
